Melbourne, FL – A Brevard County teacher will be out of a job soon after his arrest for sending harmful material to a minor. While he’s a teacher at Stone Middle School in Brevard County, deputies say Joseph Komjathy’s charges actually stem from an incident in Indian River County. Investigators didn’t go into the specifics of what Komjathy sent, but he is now facing five counts of distribution of harmful material to a minor and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Details about the investigation and Komjathy’s subsequent arrest are scarce. However, details indicate his arrest could be the result of an online chat investigation conducted by the sheriff’s office. Brevard Public Schools issued a statement following his arrest and said he’s been placed on administrative leave as the district begins the process of terminating his employment. He remains in jail with bond set at $300,000.
