Osteen resident Mark Fraser was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Monday for dozens of charges relating to illegal sex material possession. The 52-year-old was already a registered sex offender before pleading no contest to 39 total charges. 23 of Fraser’s criminal charges were for possession of a sexual performance by a child. Another 14 were for possession of pornography involving animals. Fraser was additionally charged with two counts of failure of a sex offender to register on probation. Fraser was arrested on September 11, 2024 and has been in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail ever since. Records indicate Fraser’s residence was on Doyle Road in Osteen. His home was within walking distance from Osteen Head Start, a low-income school readiness center for children. In November Fraser pleaded no contest to his 39 criminal charges. He’s now looking at remaining in prison potentially until his early 90s. The State Attorney’s Office credits Assistant State Attorney Jeanne Stratis for prosecuting Fraser. Circuit Judge A. Kathleen McNeilly presided over the case and handed Fraser his sentence.
