Palm Coast’s Hall of Terror Returning for Halloween

The Palm Coast Fire Department’s Hall of Terror event is returning for a 26th year next month at Fire Station 21. On Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 the fire station will be transformed into a haunted house that’s free for all to attend. The theme of this year’s Hall of Terror is the monsters of Universal Pictures. Vampires, mummies, Frankenstein’s monster, and the Wolf Man are just some of the figures who may be present to those brave enough to enter the frightful Hall. Those who attend can enjoy more than just free scares. Eight food vendors will be on-hand, four on each day. Friday will feature Love Handles BBQ, The Knot, B’s Bar, and Petals and Cream. On Saturday the Hall will have Traveling Tom’s Coffee, Mango Mike’s, This Guy’s Fries, and Andrea’s Italian Ice and Ice Cream. Beginning in 2001, the Hall of Terror was first organized by former Palm Coast Fire Chief Jerry Forte. He was aided by former Lt. Rich Cline. For over two decades the Hall became one of Palm Coast’s most popular seasonal Halloween attractions. For 13 years, Lt. Dan Driscoll stood at the helm of the Hall of Terror, adopting the title of ‘Boo Master’. As popular as the event has become in his tenure, Driscoll announced this year he’s ready to pass the baton. “It’s a bittersweet feeling to be leaving the helm of the Hall of Terror after this year, but I have no doubt that our new ‘Boo Masters’ are ready to steer this event into the future and continue its tremendous success,” Driscoll said. “I’m excited to see where these guys take the event next year and into the future and look forward to continuing to take part in the event in some capacity.” The Hall of Terror will be open from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each night. A special low-sensory hour for attendees with sensory sensitivities will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. both days as well. Fire Station 21 is located at 9 Corporate Drive in Palm Coast. Overflow parking will be available at Kohl’s if the adjacent parking lot overflows. In 2025 the Hall of Terror drew almost 6,000 attendees according to a release from a City of Palm Coast spokesperson. In 2024 it set a record with over 7,000 people attending. Those interested in volunteering to help the event go forward are encouraged to fill out the city’s online form.
