White Castle to Open in Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach’s first White Castle location is set to open later this month, the company announced Wednesday. The restaurant will have its grand opening on Tuesday, September 22 and 1944 LPGA Blvd. The ribbon-cutting of the new business is set to take place at 9:00 a.m. There will be a full day of events and festivities afterward, the company said in their statement. Daytona Beach will be home to only the fourth freestanding White Castle in Florida. Construction on the LPGBA Blvd White Castle has been ongoing since May 2026. The location is near other existing major fast food chain locations, such as Bojangles, Dunkin Donuts, and Panda Express. The company claims to be bringing 60 new jobs to Volusia County. Kenneth Espinal will be the store’s general manager. “You could say this Castle has been 105 years in the making, and Daytona Beach is exactly the right place to bring it,” said White Castle CEO Lisa Ingram. “Every Castle we build is meant to become part of the neighborhood around it, a place people come back to for years. Our mission is to create memorable moments every day, and we cannot wait to start making them here.” White Castle was founded in 1921 in Wichita, Kansas, making it one of the oldest running fast food chains in the United States. Headquartered out of Columbus, Ohio, White Castle was listed as having 345 locations as of 2024. The closest White Castle restaurants to Daytona Beach as of now are one location in Clermont and two in Orlando. Beyond that, one would have to travel as far as Nashville to patronize the famous burger chain. Even with three restaurants in the greater Orlando area, White Castle’s presence in Florida is a relatively new venture. Their first Sunshine State location, in Clermont, opened in 2021. A fifth Florida location is currently planned for St. Augustine. “There is nothing else quite like a White Castle, and we always select new locations thoughtfully,” added White Castle Chief Marketing Officer Jamie T. Richardson. “Every new Castle lets us carry forward our 105-year family legacy while celebrating the Cravers who make satisfying the Crave so meaningful. Daytona Beach has a character all its own.
