An Ormond Beach police officer was shot at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, according to the Ormond Beach Police Department. One suspect is in custody, charged with two counts of attempted felony murder, which are apparently from a separate incident to the officer shooting. The OBPD has not revealed the identities of the officer or the suspect as of early Monday afternoon. The officer’s injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. The shooting is being connected to another incident in which the same suspect is said to have assaulted an elderly couple outside of Daytona College in Ormond Beach (not to be confused with Daytona State College). These two victims’ identities are also currently unknown. The Ormond Beach Police Department has said there is no continuous threat to the community.
