A Daytona Beach man has been arrested following a fatal stabbing on Wednesday. 32-year-old Austin Noel has been charged with first degree murder. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Jacob Barrho. According to a statement on the incident by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Barrho was the boyfriend of Noel’s wife. Noel and his wife were legally married but had ended their relationship prior to the stabbing, the VSO said. The couple reportedly still lived together, with the boyfriend moving in with them earlier this year. Deputies were called to a residence at 1028 Gary Boulevard at around 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday. The first law enforcement responder to arrive on-scene was a South Daytona police officer. That officer arrested Noel without incident, the VSO says. At the time law enforcement arrived on-scene, Barrho is said to have sustained ‘critical life-threatening injuries’. He was hospitalized, but ultimately succumbed to his stabbing wounds. For his alleged role in the domestic incident, Noel has been charged with first degree murder. He’s been in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond since early Thursday morning. Prior to this arrest, Noel has no other bookings on record in Volusia County.
