Daniel Dye will be running four races in the NASCAR Cup Series this year for Live Fast Motorsports, the team announced Monday. The first of these entries will come this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. At the beginning of the 2026 season Dye drove full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series for Kaulig Racing. In March he was suspended by both Kaulig and NASCAR for homophobic comments about IndyCar Series driver David Malukas on a live stream, and he later resigned from the team. When Dye rolls off the grid, he’ll make his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series. Dating back to 2023 Dye has 48 starts in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and 49 in the Craftsman Truck Series. He has no wins at either level, and his only two top-five finishes came in the 2024 Truck Series season. Live Fast Motorsports is a part-time Cup Series team owned by B.J. McLeod. The team competed in the Daytona 500 to open the season and again at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta, with McLeod driving both times. Last year McLeod split the No. 78 Chevrolet with Katherine Legge for a 12-race schedule. Dye’s first NASCAR Cup Series entry is this Saturday, April 26 at Talladega Superspeedway. He’s scheduled to race again at Pocono Raceway on June 14, followed by Daytona International Speedway on August 29 and Talladega again on October 25. An announcement video from Live Fast Motorsports on Monday indicated that Champion Container Corporation would sponsor Dye. The company has been involved in NASCAR since 2023, exclusively sponsoring Dye in the Truck Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and ARCA Menards Series. Daniel Dye has three starts this year in each of NASCAR’s lower two national series. He made it three races into his deal with Kaulig Racing before parting ways, and made three starts for AM Racing to open the O’Reilly Series season. Dye’s best run between the two series was a 13th-place finish in the EchoPark Speedway Truck Series race.
